Samantha Yee – Professional Background
she/her
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle. Currently, I am completing the Washington State licensure process for my Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate credential. I provide counseling services under clinical supervision.
My experience includes supporting children, teens, adults, couples, and families in outpatient counseling and inpatient behavioral health settings. At Ohana, I provide child therapy, teen therapy, adult therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy in Renton, WA. I also offer online therapy across Washington State.
Therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when you feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure where to begin. My goal is to offer a warm and accepting space where you can slow down and feel understood. Together, we can explore what you are carrying without judgment or shame.
My work is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, gender-affirming, culturally responsive, and anti-oppressive. In our work together, your story, identity, strengths, and lived experience matter.
Specialization and Focus
I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families seeking support with anxiety, chronic stress, depression, ADHD, neurodiversity-related challenges, emotional regulation, coping skills, self-esteem, identity development, relationship concerns, attachment concerns, couples therapy, communication, parenting stress, parent coaching, family connection, life transitions, burnout, overwhelm, and feeling stuck.
Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, caring people. They often spend a lot of energy caring for others, yet struggle to offer that same care to themselves. Through therapy, you can better understand your patterns, make sense of difficult experiences, and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapy style is warm, genuine, collaborative, and approachable. In our work together, we will build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful change that feels realistic and sustainable.
Depending on your needs, I may draw from attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems and parts work, CBT-informed therapy, mindfulness-based practices, strengths-based therapy, and person-centered counseling.
When working with children, I may use art, play, and creative expression. These tools can help children communicate, process emotions, and build coping skills in developmentally appropriate ways.
Rather than focusing on what is “wrong,” I help clients understand their patterns, strengths, and needs with compassion and curiosity.
When I’m not doing therapy…
When I’m not doing therapy, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and hanging out with my pets. I also enjoy listening to music, singing, dancing, gardening, and finding creative outlets. Community involvement matters to me, and I value small moments of joy and connection in everyday life.
