Wendy Hansen, BA, MFT Clinical Intern

Wendy Hansen – Professional Background

she/her/hers

I’m currently an intern pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold memberships in both the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the American Psychological Association (APA). My passion lies in working with people, which I’ve cultivated through years of volunteering with individuals of all ages, including children, youth, young adults, and adults. This passion for connecting with people and understanding their life experiences has been the driving force behind my decision to become a therapist.

In my therapy sessions, I bring with me not only my strong listening skills but also a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and warmth to create a supportive environment for my clients.

Specialization and Focus

Specializing in a wide range of age groups, I am enthusiastic about working with couples and families. Additionally, I have a particular interest in assisting clients in navigating faith transitions and coping with life’s many changes. I’m also dedicated to helping those dealing with grief and loss.

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in client-centered, strength-based, solution-focused, and humanistic principles. I firmly believe in the inherent worth of every individual, and my goal is to help you rediscover your own. I am deeply committed to fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel understood and supported. Together, we will tackle your challenges, drawing from your inner strength and resources to achieve your goals.

When I’m not doing therapy…

I find joy in spending quality time with my family and friends. I relish outdoor activities like walking, hiking, biking, and playing pickleball. On quieter days indoors, you’ll often find me baking, engrossed in a good book, or engaged in a lively game. Exploring new places and cultures through travel is another passion I hold dear
