Wendy Hansen – Professional Background
she/her/hers
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University. My work is grounded in ongoing learning, and I regularly pursue training, consultation, and professional development to stay current in the field. I am also a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Washington Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT).
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals, couples, and families through both volunteer roles and clinical practice. These experiences deepened my appreciation for human connection and strengthened my belief that people heal in safe, supportive relationships. In each session, I bring curiosity, presence, and compassion so clients feel heard and understood.
Specialization and Focus
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating change, loss, or transition. My areas of focus include:
Couples seeking stronger communication or emotional connection
Clients experiencing faith transitions or shifts in identity
Those in the perinatal space—trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, or adjusting to early parenthood
People navigating grief and loss, anxiety, or trauma
Many of the clients I support are trying to understand who they are becoming and how to move forward with clarity.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is warm, calm, and empathetic. I draw from client-centered, strengths-based, and humanistic frameworks to create a space where people feel safe to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Rather than rushing the process, I help clients slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters to them.
Together, we look at your story, the patterns shaping your relationships, and the values that guide your choices. The goal is for you to feel more grounded, more connected, and more supported as you navigate life’s complexities.
When I’m not doing therapy…
I love spending time with my family and friends. You’ll often find me outside—walking, hiking, biking, or playing pickleball. Indoors, I enjoy dancing, baking, reading, and playing games. Exploring new places and learning about different cultures through travel continues to be one of my favorite ways to grow.
