Gentle Support for Big Feelings in School Settings

Helping children thrive by supporting the grown-ups who care for them.

Behind every thriving child is a supported caregiver. That’s why we focus on the whole circle of care with educational support. You don’t have to figure it out alone. We’re here to walk alongside the parents, teachers, and providers who make all the difference.

Kids don’t grow in isolation — they grow in connection.

And often, the places where they spend the most time — classrooms, child care centers, or early learning programs — are where their biggest emotions show up.

What We Offer

At Ohana Behavioral Health, our Educational Support Services are here for families and educators supporting children from toddlers through high school. These services help make sense of big behaviors, developmental concerns, and school-based processes, while offering guidance that centers the child’s needs and the caregiver’s voice.

Whether your child is starting preschool or you’re navigating your first 504 or IEP meeting, we’re here to guide you with insight, compassion, and tools that reflect your values. We aim to build stronger bridges between home and school—together.

We Can Help With

Our team offers practical support that’s personalized and grounded in early childhood mental health.

We support:

  • Emotional and behavioral challenges in preschool or daycare

  • Transitions, separation anxiety, and group learning concerns

  • Neurodivergent, sensitive, or strong-willed children

  • Parent-school communication and collaboration

  • Early Intervention, 504, or IEP navigation

  • Written support plans and participation in team meetings

Rather than just managing symptoms, we focus on understanding the “why” behind behaviors. When caregivers and educators work together, meaningful change is possible.

Who We Work With

We collaborate with a wide range of caregivers and professionals, including:

  • Parents or caregivers who feel stuck or unsure how to advocate

  • Families preparing for Early Intervention, 504 plans, or IEPs

  • Educators facing behavioral challenges in the classroom

  • Preschool directors seeking guidance for individual students or family engagement

  • BIPOC families looking for culturally humble, inclusive support

Because every child deserves a support system that listens, respects, and empowers.

What Support Can Look Like

Support sessions may include:

  • Observation in school, daycare, or other group settings

  • Collaborative consultation with teachers and staff

  • Coaching around advocacy and school communication

  • Classroom strategies or written summaries tailored to your child

  • Attendance at Early Intervention, 504, or IEP meetings

  • Flexible one-time or ongoing support based on your needs

No two families are alike. That’s why we tailor each experience to be respectful, grounded, and doable for your unique situation.

How to Get Started

It begins with a conversation. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or educator, we’ll start by listening to your concerns and learning about your hopes for the child in your care.

From there, we’ll offer thoughtful next steps — such as a classroom observation, a strategy session, or joining your child’s support team at a school meeting.

We provide:

  • In-person availability in Renton and surrounding areas

  • Virtual services across Washington State

  • Flexible scheduling for families and professionals

Let’s work together to support the little ones who need us most — by supporting you.

It’s Time to Thrive, Not Survive

Let’s talk about what support could look like for you. We’ll start with a free 15-minute consultation to understand your needs and make sure we’re the right fit. From there, we’ll create a flexible plan that works for your life and your season of parenting.

Support that meets you where you are — in parenting, in life, and in healing.
